If you're a nature lover, discover a birder's paradise at the wetlands area project, or venture out on a hike to the pastures . . . a habitat for many south Texas species of wildlife . . . whitetail deer, feral hog, javelina, bobcat, turkey, sandhill crane... and night time coyote calling.

Saddle Up !


Watch team steer roping by ranchhands and local cowboys as they practice in the large arena. Occasional country western music and dancing at the Longhorn Saloon. And when evening comes, you'll sit on logs around the campfire and watch the sun drop below the wide horizon. Roast marshmallows and listen to tall tales, or sing a ballad of the old west.

Area Wetlands Or visit the nearby Welder Wildlife Refuge and Aransas National Wildlife Refuge to see the Whooping Cranes' winter nesting site. At Dos Vaqueros, you can get involved, or just relax and observe. It's your choice . . . anyway you like it.
